Buying a home is often the moment people first think about a Will, especially if you are not married.

How you own it matters

If you own as joint tenants, your share normally passes to the other owner automatically. If you own as tenants in common, your share passes under your Will, or under the intestacy rules if you have no Will.

Unmarried couples

Unmarried partners do not automatically inherit from each other. A Will is the simplest way to protect each other.
