Getting onboarded
How onboarding works, by chat or by form, and what happens next.
How does onboarding work?
Onboarding is simply how we get to know you and what you would like to put in place. It starts small: tell us what you need, answer a couple of quick questions, and we set up your private account. That takes a couple of minutes.
From there, everything you tell us is saved to your account as you go. Carry on straight away or come back whenever suits you, on any device. You can chat with our assistant or use a simple form, and switch between the two whenever you like.
If life gets busy, we send the occasional friendly reminder, and if you would like a hand, someone from our team is happy to help.

Of course. Your answers are saved every time you continue, so you never lose anything. Choose “Save and finish later” at any point (or simply close the page) and pick up from My Account whenever you are ready.
When you choose to finish later, we email you a link that takes you straight back to where you stopped. If we do not hear from you for a while, we send a gentle reminder, and someone from our team may get in touch to see whether they can help.

Many people find the chat quicker because it feels like a conversation and only asks what is relevant to you. Others prefer to see each question laid out on its own screen. The questions, the checks and the summary you confirm are exactly the same either way.
In the chat, names, addresses and dates of birth are typed into small secure boxes. They go straight into your encrypted record and are never shared with our AI assistant. If you would rather not use AI at all, choose the form. It does not use AI.

Setting up your account takes a couple of minutes. Telling us about your wishes usually takes 20 to 40 minutes in total for a Will, and a similar time for a Lasting Power of Attorney, but there is no need to do it in one go. It helps to have the full names and addresses of the people you want to include.

When you send your answers, a member of our team reviews them before your documents are prepared. If something is unclear, or your circumstances need a closer look, we will contact you through your account. You will see who on our team has worked on your plan in your account timeline.

Some situations need more care, for example property abroad, owning a business, wanting to set up a trust or leaving someone out of your Will. A few simple checks during onboarding pick these up. Our team will look at your situation personally before going further, and if you would be better served by specialist advice, we will tell you.

Family or friends are welcome to help you use the website. The decisions in a Will or LPA must be yours, made freely, without pressure from anyone. Only the person a Lasting Power of Attorney is for can make it.

- Review: our team checks your answers and contacts you if anything needs clarifying.
- Drafting: we prepare your documents.
- Your approval: we send a private link to your draft. You read it, then approve it or tell us what to change.
- Signing: we send your documents with clear instructions and a checklist.
- Registration: an LPA must be registered with the Office of the Public Guardian before it can be used.
Every step is recorded in your account, so you always know where things stand.
